Case Study:             Web Designer
Graduate Name:     Christophe Duhaut
Studied:                    MA Electronic Media and Design

Christophe graduated from the University of Sunderland in October 2005 and shortly after graduating, started a short-term project as a Web Designer.

“At the time I was working for Autotrader as a Mac Operator laying out adverts but it was only a part-time job and I was more inclined to work within web design than print design. I was introduced to Business Bridge through a company I was doing some freelance work for. They sent me some really interesting job offers specifically related to web design.”

Back in April 2006, ne-web Ltd, an award winning web design company was carrying on its expansion. Jonathan Porter, MD of ne-web contacted Business Bridge as he wanted to find a graduate web designer to join their growing team. Christophe fitted the bill as his background in print design meant he had the uncompromising design values ne-web were after.

“I started to work with ne-web in April 2006, just part-time to begin with. After just 3 months working for ne-web I had gained significant experience and professionalism.”

Jonathan Porter speaks highly of the scheme too, “Christophe’s work came on in leaps and bounds, I could tell right away from looking at his previous designs that he was talented, but he has surpassed expectations and we couldn’t be without him now.”

ne-web were so pleased with Christophe’s work that in August 2006, they offered him a full-time, permanent role with the company.

Christophe said, “I am really pleased I have found Business Bridge as they really helped me getting the job I always wanted to do. Thanks to them, in just 6 months I became a professional web designer working for one of the leading web design and e-commerce companies in the northeast. I only regret I didn’t discover Business Bridge earlier on to get a part-time job while I was a student. I really think Business Bridge is a great opportunity for students and graduates to find a job related to their subject of study and get that all-important experience.”
